Tuscaloosa Children’s Theatre was founded in 1986 by a group of parents, educators and theatre professionals who identified a need for the youth of Tuscaloosa to have opportunities to perform. The organization has grown tremendously. Today, TCT offers onstage and offstage opportunities for hundreds of children each year and performs for audiences of thousands of people annually.
TCT alumni use their talents to this day. We are on Broadway—both on and off stage. We are on the big screen and small screen, but we are not just preparing our children for Hollywood. Our alumni credit their TCT background in giving them confidence to speak in front of groups as lawyers, teachers, and in marketing, while others have directed or taught theatre. Many of our former kids have stayed involved with TCT into adulthood.
We are hosting our annual gala, Follow the Yellow Brick Road at the Riverwalk on Friday, August 2. It will be a celebration of all TCT has accomplished with dinner and a show highlighting some of our past and current talent. In addition, we will have a live and silent auction along with door prizes. We hope this night will bring entertainment to the community and also provide TCT with additional funding for the expanding programming we offer to the children of our community throughout the year.
Please consider supporting our young thespians by either being a sponsor or buying tickets for the event. We hope to see you soon… on the Yellow Brick Road!
